Meghri — the CIS Cultural Capital of 2026 — warmly invites you to take part in one of the most vibrant and meaningful cultural events of the year. The 5th International Crafts Festival, taking place on May 16-17, will transform Meghri into a festive hub of traditional crafts, national culture, and gastronomy, bringing together artisans from Armenia, CIS countries, Georgia, and Iran. This year’s festival is held under the theme: “Creative Community, Sustainable Future”.
What to expect: exhibition and fair of works by Armenian and international folk masters: carpet weaving, embroidery, ceramics, woodcraft, blacksmithing, and more; masterclasses; national music and dance, live performances; traditional cuisine — discover the unique flavors and culinary heritage of Meghri; children’s program; tightrope performance; evening concerts featuring: Katil Band, the Manel Choir of the Folk Arts Museum, and the Vary Varenk cultural-educational initiative.

This year, the festival will open on May 16, coinciding with the pan-European event “Night of Museums.”
The festival is organized at the initiative and with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, in cooperation with the Hovhannes Sharambeyan Folk Arts Museum, with the support of the Meghri Municipality, the Cultural Development Foundation, and the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
