Dear Colleagues,

Safeguarding and popularizing the intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Armenia is a priority of cultural policy. This is implemented through national and international programs across various areas.

One such initiative is the establishment of the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Armenia" database by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport in 2017. This database aims to preserve and value Armenia's intangible cultural heritage, highlight its importance and role in society, and increase awareness on digital platforms.

The database encompasses various fields of intangible cultural heritage, providing comprehensive information on current developments. It presents projects on safeguarding and transmitting this heritage, the cultural activities of different communities, specialists in the field, and heritage bearers. Additionally, it covers developments in the legal framework of the intangible cultural heritage sector. The database also includes information on the UNESCO 2003 "Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage," related international cooperation programs, and measures for safeguarding elements included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences.
